Yesterday when I was out and about looking for a geocache in Todd’s Valley I drove past this interesting structure. It was nearly at the end of the tarseal on a very less travelled road- a monstrous wall, gate, huge urn and three Moeraki boulders. It must have cost an arm and a leg. It led to no-where apart from a bit of scrubby hillside paddock that had slipped away in the rain at some stage. Just out of shot left and right the wall sucumbs to being an ordinary farm fence with the usual standard wire fence.

The actual driveway to the property was off to the left- totally open with no hint of a gate ever having or wanting to be there. The house that a presume was there was over the brow of the hill so the builders of the structure could only have ever seen it fleetingly as they drove in and out!

The gate and wall project was just there because it was there- a monument to something- not quite sure what.
